This is Japanese JiuJitsu. What you have in Brazil is Brazilian JiuJitsu which is based off Judo and Judo is based off this. Its like this, (Japanese JiuJitsu –>judo–> BJJ) JiuJitsu was the original art, then they separated a style that focused on grappling and throws into Judo.

Mitsuyo Maeda taught the Graces this style of Judo, then they built on it and called it Brazilian JiuJitsu. they all share moves cause they came from the same source, but they’re separate arts now.

U can’t use proper Jiu Jitsu techniques in competition because Jiu Jitsu is designed to be a self defense with death or serious injury being the end result for the assailant. A Jiu Jitsuka will just react & what will be will be if u know what i mean, that’s why sporting Jiu Jitsu bouts take so long. Real fights are over in seconds. Still competition is good to explore resistance but obviously u can’t do the deadly stuff or go all out to break someone joints.
